5th Annual Peace & Justice Banquet December 6th, 2009 5 PM Reception & Silent Auction 6 PM Dinner and Program Central Church members were the force and energy that founded Swords Into Plowshares and kept it going for many of our 25 years. Central Church has many times aptly been called the "conscience of the City" and today remains a home for peace and justice issues. We are pleased to announce and support their wonderful event. As the kick-off celebration to its 200th anniversary celebration next year, Central United Methodist Church invites you to its 5th Annual Peace & Justice Banquet on Sunday, December 6, 2009 at Fellowship Chapel in Detroit. The event will begin at 5 p.m. and includes a silent auction, dinner and program featuring keynote speaker Reverend Dr. Joseph E. Lowery, the 2009 recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Other honorees include David E. Bonior, Chair, American Rights at Work Board of Directors and former United States Representative, the Honorable Marilyn J. Kelly, Chief Justice, Michigan Supreme Court and the Honorable Judge Damon J. Keith, U.S. Court of Appeals for the SIxth Circuit. Tables of 10 are available for $1,250.00.
